Wild Window

I keep trying to find a band I love listening to as much as Fool's Gold but I just can't.

On Saturday I walked 11 miles around Oare in Kent in preparation for the 30 miles next month. The weather was insane for February and I'm pretty sure I suffered a little sunstroke. It's one of my favourite walks because the scenery is so varied and there is a great pub at the end of it :).

We Just Want Your Ideas

This video is just great! That is all I have to say on the matter.

History of the Title Sequence

This animation by Jurjen Versteeg has been a favourite for a while and is a great source of inspiration for one of my projects at uni so I thought I would share it. He takes a selection of famous title sequence designers and animates their name in their signature style. I can only dream of making something this beautiful.

Wrapped Up In Books

These beautiful books by Bryan Kring are so inspiring. I wish I had the time to fulfil all my crafty desires. I have so many images and project ideas like these stored for a rainy day that I'd need a tsunami to get through them all. All I know is that after seeing these, Birthday and Christmas cards will never be the same again. Just you wait friends and family, just you wait.

South Bank in the Snow

Last Sunday my Dad, my friend Sam and I went on a walk along the South Bank from Tower Bridge to Greenwich. The internet said it was a 10 mile walk but it lied and in the end it was only around 5 miles. I didn't mind too much about this after the beer and whisky concoction and 5am treck home in the snow the night before. It was a very pleasant walk and apparently great for a hangover, never again shall I wallow in self pity and alcohol sweats (how delightful). As a group we concluded that the best thing about the walk was the amount of unexpected nice things you discover. In London you often find yourself in a rush to get from one place to the next and tend to miss a lot of your surroundings, more days like this are on the cards I feel. The expedition was rounded off with a firework display on the river in Greenwich to celebrate the town becoming a Royal Borough. I didn't get to see any fireworks on bonfire night so I really enjoyed this part, especially getting to watch them from the comfort of a warm pub out of the window. My Dad has planned a 30 mile walk for the end of March along the river which I have decided to do, I think I might need to do some training before then...

Cheer Up Charlie

I read somewhere once, that stroking a cat or a dog helps deal with stress and anxiety. I have to settle with just looking at nice pictures. Just look at him. What a great guy.

Somebody That I Used To Know

A cover of this song has been floating around lately featuring 5 people playing one guitar. It's an interesting idea and they sing it well but I much prefer the original and the video is really good too. It's such a belter, great karaoke song if I ever heard one.

Kung Hei Fet Choi

On Sunday I had my first experience of the Chinese New Year celebrations in China Town. There were so many people there watching the dragons dance around and eat lettuces. It was surreal but fantastic. Our group waited under a solitary lettuce for about half an hour to be in the front row and it was worth it. We had some delicious food and browsed the market for some crazy jewellery. I didn't have any change so am planning to go back for a plastic apple ring. It was only £2.99 after all.

Seed Sleepover

Last week I had a visit from some friends from back home that I don't get to see very often. Jess lives in Paris and Tom is studying at Warwick so it was great to have them in London with me for a few days. On the Wednesday evening we went to see Ron Sexsmith at the Union Chapel in Islington which was a beautiful venue. The concert was great and Ron's voice sounded so pure and pitch-perfect. On Thursday we wondered around Borough Market for some tasty lunch and in the evening Jess and I made fish tacos which were delicious. I'm never buying guacamole from Sainsbury's again, the home made stuff is on another level of green juicy goodness. I keep selfishly trying to convince Jess to move to London with me but obviously the allure of Paris is too strong. I don't blame her really.
